COVID – 19 Information for Businesses

The City has established a hotline at 705-474-0626 ext. 2417 and email address as a means of providing further assistance. Businesses can contact the hotline between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will be connected with a member of the Economic Development team.

The Regional Opportunities Investment Credit

This will introduce a new 10% refundable Corporate Income Tax credit for capital investments and is available only in rural areas of the province, including the District of Nipissing. Check it out

New online portal connecting workers with employers looking to fill positions in the agri-food sector. This tool will match people to essential jobs and training resources throughout the provincial food supply chain. provides access to information on job opportunities and training resources in all parts of Ontario's food supply chain - from grocery retailers to bakeries and cheese processing plants to opportunities on farms. Business Credit Availability Program

will provide $40 billion of additional support through the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and Export Development Canada (EDC). BDC and EDC are working with private sector lenders to coordinate on credit solutions for individual businesses, including in sectors such as oil and gas, air transportation, exports and tourism. Check it out

Export Development Canada:

A $10B federal Business Credit Availability Program (BCAP) will allow EDC to enhance its financing and insurance programs to ensure that financially viable impacted companies have access to the credit and support they require during the coronavirus pandemic. We are working in concert with the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and private sector. Businesses can register for a MyEDC account for unlimited access to expert insights and trade information. Check it out
